System structure

The basic structure of the system consists of two container frames arranged one above the other. The planted modules form the outer walls in rows of five in the form of fixed planters. Two photovoltaic modules are located on the upper container to generate the electricity needed to operate the irrigation pump.

The space in the lower container can be used as a waiting area, lounge, and/or meeting place. There is enough space here to place benches or charging stations for cell phones, for example. Access is possible via a wheelchair ramp to ensure accessibility. The system is portable and can be set up anywhere on a level and stable surface without any preparation.

System irrigation

The two photovoltaic modules on the upper container generate the electricity needed to operate the irrigation pump. The modules are tilted outward and partially protrude from the container walls, allowing for irrigation through air humidity and rainfall. Inside, hoses with nozzles are arranged in a serpentine pattern. This allows for drip irrigation directly into the soil at the roots of the plants.

cityCube system advantages at a glance

  • Promotion of biodiversity

Thanks to the thoughtful planting of insect-friendly plants, the containers provide valuable habitat for bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects.

  • Flexibility & sustainability

The modular design allows adaptation to different environments, while sustainable materials ensure durability and a minimal ecological footprint.

  • Improvement of the urban climate

The containers contribute to improving air quality, regulating temperature, and reducing noise.

Types of planting

Various types of planting are available for the cityLam system greening.

  • Minimus

Euonymus fortunei ‘Minimus’ forms a mat approximately 15 cm high with small, dark green leaves measuring 1 cm. This evergreen dwarf shrub is extremely hardy and has very few requirements in terms of location.

  • Cotoneaster

Cotoneaster dammeri ‘Radicans’ is a fast-growing, flat-creeping ground cover. It can form a carpet up to 20 cm high with shiny dark green leaves and seasonal flowers and berries. This modest variety is often used for greening public spaces.

  • Moss

Moss is the ultimate all-rounder when it comes to greening. It can actively bind and metabolize fine dust. Thanks to its large surface area, it is very good at absorbing noise and is therefore ideal for use as green noise protection. Because moss can store water well but releases it only slowly, it requires very little care.

  • Perennials

Perennials are plants that grow and flower over several years. They offer a wide variety of colors and shapes, opening up attractive design possibilities. Perennials promote biodiversity by supporting natural habitats and attracting pollinators.

cityCube –
The green urban oasis.

When cities become denser, green spaces often have to make way. CityCube system greening resolves this conflict between urbanization and nature. The multifunctional container not only offers plenty of space for numerous plants, but can also be transformed into inviting seating areas. It invites you to take a break and enjoy the interplay of colors and scents—right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city.

Particularly noteworthy is the thoughtful planting of insect-friendly perennials. This creates a blooming atmosphere and actively contributes to promoting biodiversity. Bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects find a valuable habitat here that supports native wildlife and enriches the urban ecosystem.

Thanks to their modular design, the containers are extremely flexible and can be individually adapted to different environments and space requirements. EuroLam attaches great importance to sustainability and uses environmentally friendly materials. This guarantees a longer service life for the containers and minimizes their ecological footprint.

cityCube can be set up quickly and easily, making urban greening projects simple to implement. In addition to beautifying the cityscape, the greening container also has a positive effect on the urban climate. It improves air quality, helps regulate temperature, reduces noise, and is completely self-sufficient.
